About Us
Homeland Security Partners, LLC was created in Spring 2007 by Fernando (Fred) Di Maggio, a seasoned professional with business and federal & state government experience. The company provides the public/private sector interface to aid its business clients to more easily enter the homeland security marketplace.
Mr. Di Maggio has had successful careers in the executive and legislative branches of New York State government and in the cable television and soft drink industries. He has specialized in homeland security and economic development, having directed Empire State Development’s Homeland Security Initiative and its Empire Zones Program. In these capacities, he has helped foster the growth of thousands of jobs through the state’s major attraction/retention tax incentive program. He also was a founder of the Homeland Security Product Vetting System, a committee that enabled companies to be evaluated by several state agencies with an eye toward procurement, pilot testing and/or financial assistance.
Mr. Di Maggio initially approached the Business Council of NYS to enlist the support of the business community for the Homeland Security Initiative. As a result, the Homeland Security Council was created in January 2005 as a private/public partnership to foster opportunities for member companies to enter the HS marketplace. Mr. Di Maggio has served on the Council's Steering Committee since its formation.
Mr. Di Maggio’s successes include the new plant construction & employment expansion of Armor Dynamics, Inc. a Kingston-based manufacturer of innovative armor plating for warrior and vehicle protection. In addition, the pilot test in the NYC subway system of the air sensor system of Thermo Electron Fisher Scientific Corp. to protect against the release of deadly agents.
